Mālukyaputta Sutta — A Discourse to Mālukyaputta
I have added A Discourse to Mālukyaputta to my site.

This discourse to an elderly monk on how to practise bare awareness was frequently taught by the late Venerable Mahāsi Sayādaw to his meditation students. It is an extremely effective method to dispel defilements and gain concentration quickly, as long is it is practised with sufficient diligence.

The same method was taught to Bāhiya Dārucīriya, who was the disciple singled out by the Buddha as being the one to gain higher knowledge (abhiññā) faster than any other.

Quote:“Etadaggaṃ, bhikkhave, mama sāvakānaṃ bhikkhūnaṃ khippābhiññānaṃ yadidaṃ Bāhiyo Dārucīriyo.

I also use this teaching as the basis of my booklet on The Shortest Route to Nibbāna
