Vegaḷiṅga

A township (nigama) where lived Ghaṭīkāra, friend of Jotipāla (S.i.34, 60).

The township was in Kosala, and once, during his long stay in Kosala, the Buddha visited the ārāma in which Kassapa Buddha had taught Jotipāla, and there he himself taught the Ghaṭīkāra Sutta. M.ii.45ff.
