Vegaḷiṅga
(v.l. Vehaliá¹…ga, Vekaliá¹…ga, Vebhaliá¹…ga)
A township (nigama) where lived Ghaá¹Ä«kÄra, friend of JotipÄla (S.i.34, 60).
The township was in Kosala, and once, during his long stay in Kosala, the Buddha visited the ÄrÄma in which Kassapa Buddha had taught JotipÄla, and there he himself taught the Ghaá¹Ä«kÄra Sutta. M.ii.45ff.
