1. Vedeha.- The title of several kings of MithilÄ, capital of Videha — e.g., Suruci (J.iv.319); SÄdhÄ«na (J.iv.355, 356); Somanassa (J.vi.47); Nimi (J.vi.102), and Angati (J.vi.222, etc.). v.l. Videha. 2. Vedeha.- See Videha (2) and (3). 3. Vedeha.- The personal name of the king of KÄsi, mentioned in the MÄtuposaka JÄtaka (J.iv.94). He is identified with Ä€nanda. J.iv.95. 4. Vedeha.- The personal name of the king of MithilÄ, whose minister was Mahosadha. For his story see the Ummaá¹…ga JÄtaka. He is identified with LÄludÄyÄ«. J.vi.478. 5. Vedeha.- A rich householder of HamsavatÄ«, in the time of Padumuttara Buddha. He was a former birth of MahÄ Kassapa (q.v.) AA.i.93; ThagA.ii.134; SA.ii.135; ApA.i.209. 6. Vedeha.- A Thera of Sri Lanka, who belonged to the AraññavÄsÄ« NikÄya. He wrote the RasavÄhinÄ« and the SamantakÅ«tavaṇṇanÄ, and also, probably, the Singhalese grammar known as the SidatsangarÄ.
