Vataṃsakiya Thera

1. Vataṃsakiya Thera.- An Arahant, probably identical with Abhaya Thera; see Abhaya (1). Ap.i.174.
2. Vataṃsakiya Thera.- An Arahant. Thirty-one world-cycles ago, while riding on an elephant, he saw SikhÄ« Buddha and offered him a vataṃsaka-flower. Twenty-seven world-cycles ago he became king under the name of MahÄpatÄpa. Ap.i.216.
