Uttarimanussadhamma Sutta

There are six things without getting rid of which it is impossible to obtain superior human states (uttarimanussadhammā), to say nothing of Noble insight and wisdom.

  1. Forgetfulness (muṭṭhassaccaṃ),
  2. Lack of clear comprehension (asampajaññaṃ),
  3. Lack of sense control (indriyesu aguttadvārataṃ),
  4. Intemperance in eating (bhojane amattaññutaṃ),
  5. Deceitfulness ( kuhanaṃ), and
  6. Idle prattle (lapanaṃ).
