Timbaruka (Sutta)


Timbaruka.- A wanderer (paribbÄjaka) who visited the Buddha at SÄvatthi and discussed with him the origin of pleasure and pain. The Buddha explained to him how ignorance was at the root of all conditioned existence.

It is said that Timbaruka became a follower of the Buddha (S.ii.20f).


Timbaruka Sutta.- Records the visit of Timbaruka (above) to the Buddha.
