Sirivīra-parakkamanarinda-sīha
King of Sri Lanka (1707-39 A.C.). He was the son of VimaladhammasÅ«riya II. He held great festivals in Mahiyaá¹…gana, SumanakÅ«á¹a and AnurÄdhapura, and built a suburb called Kuṇá¸asÄlÄ, where he lived.
The temple of the Tooth Relic, built by his father, he adorned with paintings of thirty-two JÄtakas. He showed great honour to Saranaá¹…kara-sÄmaṇera and gave him a golden casket studded with seven hundred jewels. At his request, Saranaá¹…kara wrote the SÄratthasaá¹…gaha and Commentaries on the MahÄbodhivaṃsa and the BhesajjamañjÅ«sÄ. Cv.xcix.23ff.
