Samaṇa Sutta


1. Samaṇa Sutta. A monk has three pursuits: training in the higher morality, higher thought, and higher insight. He must follow these pursuits with keenness; otherwise his presence in the Order will be like that of an ass in a herd of cattle. A.i.229.
2. Samaṇa Sutta. On the four kinds of monk to be found in the Order — Stream-winners, Once-returners, Non-returners, and Arahants. These are not to be found among the followers of contrary teachings. A.ii.238.
3. Samaṇa Sutta. On the different names by which a TathÄgata is known. A.iv.340.
