Puppha Sutta. The Buddha declares that he upholds that he does not dispute with the world, only that which is upheld in the world of sages (paṇá¸itÄnaṃ) — viz., that the aggregates (khandhÄ) are impermanent, subject to woe and decay. The Buddha has thoroughly penetrated the world condition (lokadhamma) of the world of formations (saá¹…khÄrÄ). He is like a lotus, sprung from the water and come to full growth therein, yet unspotted by it. S.iii.138f.
