Phala Sutta


1. Paá¹­hama Phala Sutta.- The cultivation of the five contolling faculties (indriya) leads to one of two results: either realisation in this life, or the state of a Non-returner (anÄgÄmÄ«). S.v.236.
2. Dutiya Phala Sutta.- The seven fruits to be obtained from the cultivation of the controlling faculties. S.v.236.
3. Paá¹­hama Phala Sutta.- Same as (1), only substituting the four bases of success (iddhipÄda) for the five controlling faculties. S.v.285f.
4. Dutiya Phala Sutta.- Same as (2). The seven fruits to be obtained from the cultivation of the four bases of success. S.v.285.
5. SotÄpatti Phala Sutta.- Four conditions which, if cultivated, lead to the attainment of Stream-winning — association with good men (sappurisasaṃsevo), listening to the Dhamma (saddhammassavanaṃ), systematic attention  (yonisomanasikÄro), practising in acordance with the Dhamma (dhammÄnudhammappaá¹­ipatti). 6. SakadÄgÄmi Phala Sutta.- The same four conditions which, if cultivated, lead to the attainment of Once-returning. (ed.) S.v.411f.
7. AnÄgÄmiphala Phala Sutta.- The same four conditions which, if cultivated, lead to the attainment of Non-returning (ed.) S.v.411f.
8. Arahatta Phala Sutta.- The same four conditions which, if cultivated, lead to the attainment of Arahantship (ed.) S.v.411f.
