PÄá¹aliputtaka brahmin
A brahmin of PÄá¹aliputta. He and a friend, both of that city, having heard of the virtues of MahÄnÄga Thera of KÄlavallimaṇá¸apa in Sri Lanka, came by ship to MahÄtiá¹á¹ha.
One died on the way, the other went to AnurÄdhapura, and from there to Rohaṇa, where he took up his abode in CullanagaragÄma and visited the Elder in his monastery. Under him he entered the Order and became an Arahant. AA.i.384.
