Mittasena
1. Mittasena Thera. One of the eminent monks who took a leading part in the Foundation Ceremony of the MahÄ ThÅ«pa. Dpv.xix.8; MT. 525, 527. 2. Mittasena. A thief (? vÄ«hicora) who succeeded Sotthisena and ruled for one year (432 33 A.C.) at AnurÄdhapura, after the murder of Sotthisena by Saá¹…ghÄ. He restored some of the cetiyas and was slain by the Damiḷa Paṇá¸u. Cv.xxxviii.5ff.
