MigajÄla visits the Buddha and asks what is meant by a dweller in solitude (ekavihÄrÄ«) and what by one living with a companion (sadutiyavihÄrÄ«). The Buddha answers that he who is enamored of objects of sense is “one living with a companion,†while he who has cast off craving is “a dweller in solutude.†S.iv.35f.
