MaṇibhaddavattikÄ
A class of ascetics and recluses who, perhaps, worshipped Maṇibhadda (q.v.) MNid.89.
In the MahÄbhÄrata, Maṇibhadda is mentioned among the yaksas in Kuvera’s palace (ii.10, 397).
He is the tutelary deity of travellers and caravans (iii.65, 2553).
The MaṇibhaddÄ are mentioned in the Milindapañha (p.191) together with tumblers, jugglers, actors, etc.
