Mahallaka NÄga, Mahalla NÄga

Father-in-law and commander-in-chief of GajabÄhuka GÄmaṇi.

After GajabÄhu’s death he became king of Sri Lanka and reigned for six years (196-202 A.C.).

He built seven vihÄras: Sejalaka, Gotapabbata, DakapÄsÄna, SÄlipabbata, Tanaveli, TobbalanÄgÄpabbata and GirihÄlika.
