Kaṇḍakī Sutta

v.l. Kaṇṭakī Sutta.–  A group of three suttas.

1. Paṭhama Kaṇḍakī Sutta.– Sāriputta and Mahā-Moggallāna go to Anuruddha and ask him how a trainer should dwell. Anuruddha says that the four foundations of mindfulness (satipaṭṭhāna) should be cultivated both by a learner (sekha). S.v.298.

2. Dutiya Kaṇḍakī Sutta.– Anuruddha says that the four foundations of mindfulness should be cultivated by an adept (asekha). S.v.299.

3. Tatiya Kaṇḍakī Sutta.– Anuruddha says that it was through developing and cultivating the four foundations of mindfulness that he came to understand the thousand-fold world-system. S.v.299.
