Duvera Sutta (AnÄthapiṇá¸ika Sutta)
AnÄthapiṇá¸ika visits the Buddha, who tells him of the five guilty fears — that are begotten
- by killing,
- by stealing,
- by wrong indulgence of sensual lust,
- by evil speaking, and
- by the drinking of intoxicants
Freedom from these, together with possession of the Noble Insight, enables a man to say that he is destined for Enlightenment. S.v.387f.
