Bhandu

1. Bhandu, Bhanduka. An Anāgāmi upāsaka, son of a sister of Devī, and therefore cousin of Mahinda and Sanghamittā. He accompanied Mahinda to Sri Lanka, and was ordained, on the day of their arrival, at Ambaṭṭhala. He attained Arahantship immediately after. Mhv.xiii.16, 18; xiv.29, 31f.; Dpv.xii.26, 39, 62, 63.
