A title by which PañcÄla, king of UttarapañcÄla, is addressed in the Sattigumba JÄtaka (J.iv.435); also the king of Benares, in the Saá¹…khapÄla JÄtaka (J.v.170) and Manoja, king of Benares, in the Soṇa-Nanda JÄtaka (J.v.317, 326). The scholiast explains (J.v.317) the word by raá¹á¹habhÄradhÄritÄya.
