Anantajina
An epithet of the Buddha.
When Upaka, the ÄjÄ«vika, saw the Buddha, and heard of his attainments, Anantajina was one of the names he used in uttering the Buddha’s praises (ThagA.i.220).
Later, when having quarrelled with his wife CÄpÄ, he sought the Buddha at SÄvatthi, it was “Anantajina†he asked for. Ibid., 222; SnA.i.260; MA.i.389.
