AmarÄdevÄ«-pañha
The name given to the riddle in which AmarÄ tells Mahosadha the way to her house: “Yena sattu bilangÄ ca dviguṇapalÄso ca pupphito, yenÄdÄmi tena vadÄmi yena nÄdÄmi na tena vadÄmi esa maggo yavamajjhakassa etaṃ channapathaṃ vijÄnÄhÄ«ti.â€
The scholiast explains it thus: entering the village you will see a cake shop and then a gruel shop; further on an ebony tree in flower, take a path to the right.
This riddle referred to in J.i.425 as the AmarÄdevipañha, is, however, called Channapathapañha in the Ummagga JÄtaka itself, where it actually occurs in the story. J.vi.365-6.
