FAQ: How Much Are the Classes?

There is no charge for any classes, retreats, nor for any of the books that you can download from my website. Buddhist monks have managed to survive since the time of the Buddha by collecting their daily almsfood, and by relying on the generosity of lay people to provide whatever else they need. Monks are not permitted to accept or use money, credit cards, or cheques.

Please see Money Makes the World Go Round for more details.

How to Get There

Train Times

Coming by Car

Bus Routes

By Train and Underground

Seven Kings Commuter rail station (in Travel Card Zone 4) is just two minutes’ walk. Trains every 10 minutes from Liverpool Street (platform 16/17) to Shenfield.

Not all trains stop at Seven Kings • Please Check

The Jubilee Line, Central Line, and Dockland Light Railway connect to Stratford, from where one can catch Great Eastern railway trains to Seven Kings (Platform 8). Central Line trains stop on Platform 7 so one can avoid a short walk and the stairs by taking that route.

By Car

  • Red Route: From the A12 (Westbound) turn left into Barley Lane at King George V Hospital. After 0.8 miles, turn second right into Percy Road. At the end, you must turn left into Westwood Road, then immediately take a right into Meads Lane. Take fourth left into Landsdowne Road, then first right into Cambridge Road — 34 is on the right.
  • Blue Route: From the A12 (Eastbound) just after B & Q Superstore, turn right into Ley Street. Take the third left into Wards Road. At the end, turn left into Aldborough Road South, then first right into Meads Lane. Turn third right into Cambridge Road. At the end, turn left into the continuation of Cambridge Road, and 34 is on your left.
  • Green Route: From Ilford High Road (Westbound) turn right into St Alban’s Road just before Seven Kings station. Turn left into Cambridge Road after Telegraph Mews.
  • Yellow Route: From Ilford High Road (Eastbound) turn left into St Alban’s Road, 130 yards past Seven Kings station. Turn left into Cambridge Road after Telegraph Mews.

Parking Restrictions

  • Waiting Restrictions operate between 8:30 am – 6:30 pm, Monday to Saturday in the immediate vicinity. One off-street parking space is available, and unrestricted parking is available nearby in adjacent Lansdowne and Cambridge roads.

  • The 86 from Stratford to Romford stops at Seven Kings Station.
  • The 364 from Ilford to Goodmayes stops in Meads Lane. Walk down Cambridge Road (or Landsdowne Road) to the end and turn left (or right).
